Established in 2008, Volunteers for Medical Outreach (VMO) is a student run organization composed of highly dedicated UC Berkeley students at the University of California, Berkeley.
VMO works with nonprofit organizations like Aid for Children Without Parents (ACWP) and the San Jose based Friends of Hue Foundation, as well as the Vietnam Tooth Project (VTP), a Berkeley-based public health research project, to reach our goals. To integrate our efforts, we travel alongside ACWP and FHF doctors, and Vietnamese officials during our medical mobile clinics.

WHAT WE DO
We go on international service trips every summer to provide free medical services to disadvantaged populations. This summer, we will be focusing on Hue and Saigon in Vietnam and the services that we provide include mobile clinics, hepatitis B vaccination clinics, and corrective surgeries.
At these clinics, VMO members assist doctors and dentists during clinical sessions, pharmacists, as well as teach basic health lessons to school children.
FUNDRAISING
Throughout the academic year, VMO members fundraise and collect donations to buy medicines and medical supplies needed to run the various clinics and surgeries. Members can fundraise individually for the cost of travel, but all the profit from VMO-hosted fundraisers will go directly toward buying the necessary medical supplies.
